PIED PIPER | HOMEPAGE REDESIGN
A UX redesign of the hypothetical startup – Pied Piper from HBO’s TV show Silicon Valley. I redesigned their webpage by including a bright eye catching green color throughout for brand presence. As well as separating out the information to make it more legible and to get a better conversion of customers by creating a call to action button to sign up for a trial of the software. All the illustrations were created to convey a visual idea and branding for the hypothetical company.
I started out by sketching out several ideas of how the homepage would look like with all the elements that needed to be included – ranging from video section, to company highlight, and team info, as well as a section that explains what Pied Piper does. I focused on simplifying all the information and giving each element a space within a section that would make it work without being too heavy on one side or the top/bottom.
I imagined the website to be illustration heavy to illustrate how the algorithm works and what the company Pied Piper is about without being too wordy and grasping the users attention with some nice images to look at. I relied on minimal color and a vector illustration style with thick strokes and splashes of green color.
THE COMPLETE ILLUSTRATIONS IN COLOR
Below is a process shot as I was trying to work through the placement of each section and where the illustrations would go.
In the final mockup up I placed all the illustrations that I’ve been working on and made adjustments to the top section of the homepage by minimizing the logo and emphasizing more of the illustration to connect it with the rest of the homepage that’s illustration heavy.
I designed square and horizontal ad versions which would be used to advertise in spaces on websites to bring more awareness to the Pied Piper company. And of course, there has to be a T-shirt to go along with it so i mocked up a nice bright green shirt with the logo and slogan on it.
